Haley Josephs employs a vibrant palette of colors in her painting; often producing dream-like scenes where the realistic setting is made other worldly with the brilliant and non-naturalist color choices.  While painting, Josephs mixes the colors directly on the canvas making them specifically for each  stroke of each work. During Josephs’ time at The Cabin LA in August of 2018, she created this work  entitled Champions depicting three main figures who appear to be wearing baseball uniforms with the  name “Flowers” written across them. Two of the figures gaze out at us, arms-crossed, defiant, and  tinged with melancholy for the fleetingness of this moment of joyous youth.
